As you may have noticed, I have not updated this blog in some time. I simply haven't had the time and energy, with so many other things to deal with. I did think about simply shutting down the blog, but something compells me to keep it*. In any case, I have decided to take the language theme over to Twitter! Starting today I'll be posting a Japanese word a day (or so) @mainichinihongo, which means "Japanese every day" (doh). I hope that it will be update-able and fun, so if you are a Twitter-er go ahead and friend me! My more general + food Twitter account is @bentotips - what the heck, add that me too if you like! Who knows, the Twitter posts may even revive this blog!
(*One reason I don't want to give up this Typepad site - I don't want this Typepad URL to get taken over by some mysterious entity posting gobbledygook posts that look as though they are there for SEO purposes or something, as I've seen happen with some formerly popular but abandoned Typepad sites - see Mimi Ito's former Typepad site, which was one of the early English language bento blogs, or the former Oslo Foodie. Not nice that.)
Yikes-- I had to check my old Typepad address to see what has been done with it. Fortunately, there's just a 404 error. whew!
I like the Twitter idea. It seems like a good, bite-size way of keeping the language theme alive.

Maki-san! :D
I am a big fan of your sites justhungry+justbento. I also like this page and i just want to tell you that it's sad that you have not updated this for a while. I think it's so cool to learn about japanese culture and languages. But i do understand that youre a busy-bee and got lots of stuff going on. ^^
I will follow your twitter and hope to get lots of tips and interesting reading. And also, i read a post at justhungry i think, about Kamome shokudô. I saw it last night and it was great and really made me feel good!
Get well soon and dont forget to rest. I couldnt imagine there were so dangerous insects in france!
